The Pediatrics post graduate residency program has been designed to incorporate a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of discipline of Pediatrics in all trainees. The residents during their training not only achieve the clinical skills for becoming better physicians, they are also prepared to develop and encompassing approach towards their patient, the family, and the extended aspects of treatment, follow-ups, and its implications on the patients and the significant others lives. They learn to own the patient, develop optimal management plans, extensively discuss it with the faculty and their colleagues and involve the family as members of the management team. They not only go through rigorous training but are also periodically evaluated for the degree of skills thus attained. Once they have completed the program they are ready to enter the discipline of Pediatrics as excellent clinicians and join the medical community as proud, confident and competent physicians.
