The Medical Education department under the leadership of the Director works to ensure that our system of postgraduate medical education is established according to the internationally acceptable criteria and meet all the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

Shifa International fellowship programme, through its highly qualified faculty, professional staff and state of the art division is one of the best place in the northern region for the management of Endo / Diabetes diseases and looks forward to achieving excellence in patient care through continued medial education sessions, seminars and conferences. We take great pride in our legacy of fantastic residents who are motivated and driven to achieve excellence in clinical skills and scholarly activities. A strong work ethic and dedication to the program have helped us achieve notable accomplishments every year. The foundation of our program is a diverse group of faculty that is committed to achieving the highest standards of residency education and training. Each faculty member has achieved national recognition within their fields of expertise.
The goals of the fellowship program are to develop future leaders in endocrinology, including researchers, educators and community endocrinologists. The program provides a very strong clinical base in first year, then allows for a highly individualized second year curriculum, designed to offer trainees the best training for their desired future endocrinology career. Our program emphasizes the development of both exemplary clinical skills as well as the scholarly skills required for our trainees to succeed in both academic and community settings.

Duration of this fellowship Program is 2 years after 1st fellowship in General Medicine.

Evaluation of the Fellows are done in many ways:
- Monthly Mini Cex
- Clinical Evaluation
- Bi-annual Evaluation
- Departmental Exams
By the end of year two, the resident should attain competence at the following skills so that he / she is able to function independently
- Some of the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (list of procedures given in table below)
- Clinical decision making (including making differential, provisional, final diagnoses and problem identification)
- Conduction of research (working on dissertation / article)
Note: These competencies are in addition to the ones already attained in the previous year/s.

Candidates are required to fill on-line application form. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

3. A candidate can apply for only one program at a time.
4. Candidate may partially fill the form and save it on-line for resuming filling out the form later using login credentials.
5.Once the on-line application form is filled and submitted, candidate would be able to take a printout.
6. The hard copy of the on-line application form along with the required documents mentioned in the Application Form must be submitted to the PGME Office, Medical Staff Affairs either personally, through friends/relatives or through reliable courier service.
7. Check your junk emails (in case of email not received).

All residents are encouraged to get involved in audits and research projects, however research project as per CPSP requirements is mandatory for all.
