The ENT Residency is a four-year program, including three months each of General Surgery and Plastic Surgery rotations. These rotations follow the guidelines set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Each resident does an average of one night in four on-calls within the Hospital premises, although occasionally one night in three or two may be necessary.

The promotion of the residents to the next level is based on progress measured by continuous evaluation and quarterly MCQ or Oral exams. The residents are continuously assessed for their performance by their supervising faculty. Assessments are done through software and residents may also get a feedback about their performance. The critical incidents are also monitored and reported accordingly.

The end of the year promotion is based on the continuous assessment by the faculty, workplace based assessment of the residents, internal exams and end of the year assessment. The residency committee discusses the progress of each resident at 3- monthly intervals and the residents are given a feedback about it. If the progress of the resident is unsatisfactory, the resident may not be promoted to the next year. In case of unsatisfactory performance, the resident may even be asked to leave the program after following the due process and institutional guidelines.
